A special type of editing package called Corel Photo-Paint uses the same concept, but its editing system is somewhat different. The Background layer: The background layer contains the original image that you placed in the Photoshop file. This is usually your starting point. Mask: This feature creates a layer that enables you to “mask out” a specific part of the image. You can either use the area that you want to mask by highlighting it with a magic wand or by filling the area with a color. Masking can be helpful when you want to create a template that you can reuse, such as in a photo of a baby. The mask, then, is just an empty layer with a white fill. You can create a mask layer from a selected color, from the Lasso or Magic Wand tool, or from a selection made with the Select or Marquee tools. You can make the mask as small or large as you want. In Figure 2-1, I have selected a small area to be masked and made the layer transparent.

FERGUSON, MO – The Ferguson Police Department released a police report they said supported the defense that Officer Darren Wilson had in the death of Michael Brown.
The report addressed the shooting of Brown on August 9, 2014. Wilson shot Brown after the unarmed teenager allegedly shot at Wilson. The report said it was Wilson’s judgement to use his service weapon. The report also denied that Brown was shot in the back.
The report said Brown was shot in the chest when Wilson was out of sight of Brown, and said, “The trajectory of the fatal wound was a shallow entry wound into the top right side of the chest.
The report also said Brown changed his direction immediately before he was shot, which the report said created a “strategic advantage” for Wilson. The report says Wilson was about 20-25 yards away from Brown and that the two were standing 5-7 feet apart when Wilson fired.
A grand jury declined to indict Wilson in October.

(CNN) — A spokesman for the Defense Department told CNN that the missile that exploded Wednesday in a Saudi Arabian city is a U.S.-made Tomahawk cruise missile.
The Pentagon had earlier said that it believed a “U.S.-origin cruise missile” exploded in the city of Abha.
“There’s no American cruise missile in Saudi Arabia,” Don Nordquist, spokesman for the Defense Department, told CNN on Wednesday afternoon.
Saudi authorities said that the blast was caused by a motorcycle rider who lost control of the vehicle and caused it to hit a building. They said that no one was hurt.
The United States has not confirmed the report that the missile was a U.S.-made cruise missile.
A spokesman for the U.S. Central Command said the exact type of missile was not known but that it would take “more than a little conjecture to say what the type of weapon was.”
A U.S. official told CNN on Wednesday that the missile was “almost certainly” of U.S. origin.
The official said that Washington had received intelligence reports that Saudi Arabia could be preparing to conduct a missile test but that officials had not confirmed the reports.
Abu Dhabi is reportedly expected to hold a review on February 15.
